Fat Fighter Information:
Health experts agree that a low fat, high fiber diet is critical
in maintaining a healthy weight but, as many unsuccessful dieters
know, fat intake is not that easy to reduce. Chitosan is a polysaccharide
found in the ground shells of crustaceans, like crabs and shrimps,
that is unique in its ability to "trap" fat molecules
and carry them out of your system before they can be absorbed
into the bloodstream. It does this in two ways. The first way
involves the attraction of opposite chemical charges (similar
to a magnet). Positively charged Chitosan attracts the negatively
charged fatty acids and bile acids, binding them to the indigestible
Chitosan fiber. The undigested Chitosan fiber is naturally eliminated
from your system along with the "trapped" fat. This
explains why Chitosan reduces LDL cholesterol levels. The second
entrapment mechanism can be compared to the effect of a net. The
Chitosan wraps around fat droplets and prevents them from being
digested by lipid enzymes. Fats "netted" by Chitosan are undigestable
and are not absorbed by the body. Because Chitosan is an all-natural
product and does not contain any stimulants it is an entirely
safe product to use. You may want to avoid this product if you
have allergy to shellfish otherwise Chitosan is completely safe.
It is advisable to take any fat-soluble supplements, namely Vitamins
A, D and E and Evening Primrose Oil, at different times of the
day away from any Chitosan products.
